I'll Miss My Daily Routine

TITLE

Lorem ipsum blah blah blah blah blah blah

This will be the last blog of the week. I'm updating the website and in order to do everything that needs to be done, the site has to come down. I will still be on Twitter and Facebook giving updates about my comings and goings. Though it's just a few days, I'll Miss My Daily Routine.

Before I move on I have to go back a little to Monday.

My birthday started with a horrific nightmare. It was so realistic and terrifying that when I was scared awake I stayed awake. That was at 2:37 and I didn't have to leave my house until 10:00 am for a doctor appointment. When I got to the doctor I was tired, nervous and depressed. I was also feeling bitter about my current state of health. I have a long way to go to get well. By the way, the doctor I was seeing was a cardiologist and my primary care physician.

By the time I left his office I had a completely different state of mind from when I'd arrived. I was grateful to be alive and full of energy.

Prostate cancer is the number one cancer killer of men in America. Before I was diagnosed, I'd always heard mostly positive things about prostate cancer - statements like, "You die with prostate cancer, not from it." And of course the ever popular, "If you've got to have cancer - that's the one to have!" (Yeah right, you need to have the cancer that kills the most men!).

My doctor helped me see that I should focus on a strategic plan of recovery with the life I have. The cancer that attacked my prostate was considered extremely aggressive.

The rest of my day couldn't have been more perfect by my standards. I went for a gourmet lunch, then saw two movies; the first of which was in a completely empty theater on a Monday afternoon in NYC, then took the subway home where I had a five-hour shiatsu massage. This was maybe the best gift of the day.

Last week I'd had a minor car accident. When the airbag deployed it did some damage to my shoulder, chest and nose. My masseuse worked out all the tension and increased blood flow to every tendon, muscle and joint of my body. This therapeutic luxury caused me to have four hours of continuous sleep, a sort of record in this insomniacs world.

Right before I dosed off I saw an email saying Rolling Stone Magazine was going to review my memoir, "Le Freak." I'll get my first hard copy of it today.

I'm being a little long-winded because while the site is down, I'll Miss My Daily Routine.

Yup, this would be a nightmare alright

The huge theater was completely empty at 1pm

Ran into Mark Hudson at the subway - He'd just come back from working with Seal in LA

You will hear a Nile Rodgers song today. It will make you happy.

Today's pop music—genre-crossing, gender-bending, racially mixed, visually stylish, and dominated by dance music with global appeal—is the world that Nile Rodgers created. In the 1970s and 1980s, he wrote and produced the songs that defined that era and everything that came after: "Le Freak," "Good Times," "We Are Family," "Like a Virgin," "Modern Love," "I'm Coming Out," "The Reflex," "Rapper's Delight." Aside from his own band, Chic, he worked with everyone from Diana Ross and Madonna to David Bowie and Duran Duran (not to mention Mick Jagger, Debbie Harry, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, Prince, Rod Stewart, Robert Plant, Depeche Mode, Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, Grace Jones, Bryan Ferry, INXS, and the B-52's), transforming their music, selling millions of records, and redefining what a pop song could be.
